Parent Group
Mission of the Parent Group
The mission statement of the Parent Group is: to offer enrichment activities and events to enhance the overall education, spiritual and social experience for the students at Infant Jesus School. This includes:
- Partial funding of school field trips
-
Scheduling and funding enrichment programs that augment the students' curriculum
- Sponsoring special activities at school such as the Holiday Gift Room, Wee Deliver, Crown Street Journal, and the yearbook
- Sponsoring family oriented social events such as the Roller Kingdom night and Spaghetti Social
The secondary goal of the Parent Group is the development of a volunteer core. As the school continues to grown i size, the ned for volunteers also increases. our volunteers not only work to plan and carry out the enrichment activities, but also to respond to the daily needs of the school: helping the cafeteria, shelving library books, and general assistance to teachers (e.g. making photocopies of worksheets or helping with classroom projects). the IJS Parent Group coordinates the time and talents of the parent to help strengthen and enhance the links between parents, teachers and children at Infant Jesus School.
Monthly Meetings
Parent group meetings are held monthly (check the school calendar for the next meeting). Everyone is welcome at these meetings.

Fundraising
The Parent Group will
raise funds for the various events that it sponsors through various
programs such as Box Tops for Education. The funds raised by the
Parent Group are used to cover the cost of transportation for field
trips, admission costs, and other enrichment activities for our
children.
- Box Tops for
Education -- please save the
specially marked box tops from your favorite General Mills products!
The
Box Tops
for Education program allows the Parent Group to trade
Box Tops for cash. Please send them to the school office.
- Candy Drive
-- The Parent Group holds
an annual
Candy
Drive fundraiser. This is the major fundraiser
sponsored by the Parent Group and we appreciate your help.

Yearbook
For the past several years, the Parent Group has published a sixth grade
yearbook. This book contains many photos and writings of each sixth
grader. It is filled with many memories that our children have
experienced here at Infant Jesus School. Your child will cherish
this one book long after they leave their elementary school. The
yearbook design and format will remain the same, however each year
parents are needed to volunteer to organize, coordinate and prepare
this yearbook. Lets keep this publication going so that our children
can have lasting memories of Infant Jesus School. |
