Computer Room

Here's a very short
description of what we're doing in computer class just now. I
update this monthly, so check back often!
May and June
 For the last 2 months of school the children will be playing many online games - including Arthur games (from PBS kids), I Spy, Sesame Street games, and BBC games. They will also practice typing their names in, beginning to learn where the letters are on the keyboard.
April
In April, they played Trudy's Time and Place House, and enjoyed a day of "free choice" based on their excellent behavior in computer class!
March
During March, they will be playing JumpStart Phonics, and working on Easter projects.
February
We will start the month off with an earned "free choice" day. They will be very busy this month, celebrating both Valentine's Day and the 100th day of school with special projects.
January
We will start the year off with a new program - Carnival Countdown.
December
Kindergartners have learned so much already - and were rewarded with a "free choice" class. They will also be bringing home a special Christmas tree that they have decorated.
November
We have begun exploring a web site called Sillybooks. They love the stories, songs, and games on this site. You should see them using their new headphones! They love them! They will be working on a Thanksgiving picture to take home, and will also be doing a "letter of the week" drawing.
October
Kindergartners will begin using their headphones this month. They have learned how to draw some basic pictures on the
computer and have drawn pictures of their field trip. They also
played Millie's Math House. They will have lots of fun drawing Halloween
pumpkins!
September
They
started the year by playing Sammy's Science House, educational
software that teaches sorting, sequencing, weather, etc. They
especially liked building things at the workbench! They created
their first picture on the computer - a Robot made of simple shapes.
